Colorado ranch real estate—acreage, farms, ranches, mountain land, hunting land

United Country Colorado Brokers is based in Western Colorado, the part of Colorado where people dream about living. Our territory is the mountain West, where the county fair and rodeo is still a big deal and the local industry could be mining, tourism, skiing, timber, ranching, farming, or a combination of all the above. Our terrain ranges from irrigated farms growing corn and pinto beans at 4,700 feet in elevation; to orchards and vineyards in the sweet zone between 5,200 and 6,200 feet; to cattle ranches and hay farms up to 7,000 feet; and mountain grazing land and hunting properties all the way up to timberline at 12,000 feet. We are surrounded by mountains on all sides, until the peaks give way to rimrock canyons in the deserts bordering the Utah state line.

Mountain recreation in Western Colorado—we live the good life!

We live where everyone has a favorite hobby or recreation. If you don’t get outside, you may as well be living in a suburb in Ohio. Fly-fishing, elk hunting, horseback riding, kayaking & canoeing, hiking, birding, downhill skiing and Nordic skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, rafting, upland bird hunting, waterfowling, tennis, golf, motocross—the list of recreational activities is practically endless. The North Fork Valley is centrally located between three of Colorado’s most famous ski areas—Aspen, Crested Butte, and Telluride are all within a 2-hour drive of the North Fork area.

The North Fork Valley is home to Paonia, Crawford, Hotchkiss

United Country Colorado Brokers is based in Hotchkiss, Colorado, a small town on the Western Slope known for its mild climate, scenic vistas, and irrigated farms, ranches, orchards, and vineyards. Hotchkiss is the centerpoint of the North Fork Valley, with a 15-minute drive to both Paonia and Crawford. Paonia is known for its fruit orchards, stunning mountain views, and its alternative culture, with an emphasis on natural farming and off-grid energy sources. Crawford is higher in elevation than Paonia, and there are many larger irrigated acreages surrounding Crawford that are well suited to hay production and cattle ranching. The valley is ringed by the West Elk mountain range to the east, the Grand Mesa to the north, and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison to the south. The lifestyle is quiet. There are no stoplights in the North Fork Valley, and a traffic jam is when the neighboring rancher is driving his cattle down the highway.

Surface Creek Valley is home to Cedaredge, Eckert, Orchard City

Cedaredge is the centerpiece of the Surface Creek Valley, with the smaller towns of Orchard City and Eckert just down the road. It is a beautiful little town with many small farms, apple and peach orchards, vineyards, and cattle ranches. It’s also home to one of the most beautiful golf courses in Colorado, where we have several nice homes and a gorgeous collection of building lots available. Cedaredge is known as a retirement hub, with many senior citizens who appreciate the gentle climate, recreational possibilities, golf course, and quiet lifestyle. Real estate prices are reasonable, with small homes just over $100,000 and nicer custom homes under $500,000.
